The 8th Commission of the National Assembly Hold Talks
with Minister of Women’s Affairs
In the afternoon of 19 November 2009 at the National Assembly Palace, H.E. Ms. Ho Naun, Chairwoman of the Commission on Public Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth Rehabilitation, Labour, Vocational Training and Women’s Affairs of the National Assembly and some members of the 8th Commission had a working discussion with H.E. Mrs. Ing Kanthaphavy, Minister of Women’s Affairs and H.E. Mrs. Chou Bun Eng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and their colleagues.
H.E. Ms. Ho Naun lauded the leaderships of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and the Ministry of Interior for their great efforts in implementing the Royal Government’s Rectangular Strategy Phase II and it is the great honour for the 8th Commission to cooperate with other institutions in tackling women and social affairs.
She added that the 8th Commission and other parliamentarians asked the minister of women’s affairs to explain some pressing issues:
- the development of the implementation of social code of ethics;
- the development of the enforcement of the law on the prevention of domestic violence and the protection of victims and the law on the suppression of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
In response, H.E. Mrs. Ing Kanthaphavy said that the ministry of women’s affairs had successfully disseminated laws and law enforcement and had addressed the challenges relating to women and social affairs.
To wrap up the meeting, H.E. Ms Ho Naun expressed her sincere thanks to the minister, the secretary of state and their colleagues for taking their valuable time to hold a meeting with the 8th Commission. |
