H.E. Ms. Nin Saphon, Chairwoman of the 9th Commission holds discussion on the draft law with H.E. Mr. Kong Vibol, representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance
The Commission on Public Works, Transport, Telecommunication, Post, Industry, Mine, Energy, Commerce, Urban Planning, Land Management and Construction of the National Assembly held meeting on 4 draft laws with H.E. Mr. Kong Vibol, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economy and Finance in the afternoon of 13th of October 2009 at the National Assembly Palace.
The meeting focused on the draft laws including: 1- the draft law on the ratification of ASEAN comprehensive investment agreement, 2- the draft law on the ratification of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement among ASEAN member states with Japan, 3- the draft law on the ratification of the trade in service of the framework agreement on the comprehensive economic cooperation among ASEAN member states with the People’s Republic of China and 4- the draft law on the ratification of trade in service under the framework agreement on comprehensive economic cooperation among ASEAN member states with the Republic of Korea.
H.E. Mr. Kong Vibol told the meeting that the 4 above-mentioned draft laws aimed at amending the framework agreement on ASEAN investment area by integrating with ASEAN agreement in promoting and protecting the investment of “ASEAN IGA” in order to better the investment environment in the region as well as to encourage and attract the investment in the region more competitively.
The agreement contributes to the implementation of ASEAN economic community outlook and to the improvement of the free flow of goods capital, technological services and human resources as well as economic development of the society as the whole in ASEAN.
H.E. Ms. Nin Saphon expressed her admiration to the representative of government who paid attention to cooperating with specialized commissions and exchanging views and experiences to carry out the law effectively in accordance with a standard that was implemented locally and internationally.
H.E. Ms. Nin Saphon added that with the agreement Cambodia has steadily moved to another new step in luring more investment from the friendly countries in the region and around the world. Moreover, it has also contributed to building more confidence for foreign investors. |
