Chinese VP Has an Audience with
Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin
During the meeting with H.E. Xi Jinping, Chinese Vice-President, in the morning of 22nd December 2009, at the National Assembly Palace, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, extended his warm congratulation to the great achievements and development in all fields realized by Chinese people and praised the promotion of the long-standing friendly relationship, solidarity and warm cooperation between the two countries for the best interests of the two nations and peoples and for the benefit of peace, stability, prosperity and cooperation in the region and in the world.
The President of the National Assembly added that the presence of the high-ranking Chinese delegation today provides great honour to the Kingdom of Cambodia and especially it has doubled the possibilities in cementing the historic long-standing brotherhood relations and solidarity between the two nations and peoples. He also expressed his great pleasure to see that cooperation between the legislative and executive bodies of the two countries have been strengthened through the constant exchanges of delegations of all levels.
The Chinese Vice President said that he is pleased for visiting the Kingdom for the first time and he extolled Cambodia ’s political stability, economic development and better living standards of Cambodian people. He added that the purpose of his visit is to cement the long-standing traditional good-neighborly relations, deepen the mutually-beneficial cooperation in all sectors, and to thank Cambodia for supporting China in many major issues including the issue of Taiwan.He stated that China will deepen the good cooperation with Cambodia and continue to support and provide aid to Cambodian people for developing their economy.
It should be noted that since 2004, there is a series of exchanges of 16 high-ranking delegations between the two countries.

- Three official visits by His Majesty Preah Bath Samdech Preah Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia from 10-14 August 2005, 24-27 December 2006 and 1-12 August 2008.
- An official visit by the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Thomea Pothisal Chea Sim from 1 to 5 September 2008.
- An official visit by the National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin from 22 to 30 August 2007.
- 8 official visits by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, 3 times in 2004, 2 times in 2005, once each in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
